Some recent letters from our patients:

It is true that there are times in one's life that we are unable to cope. I had such a time and I will be forever grateful for the support and the straight, direct advice as to what to do which was given to me. In my moments of sheer frustration you were all always there to help me and I felt very comforted to know that. Fish Hoek Home Nursing Services was ultimately my life line. Being new in this area and having no time to make connections, I felt secure in the knowledge that I had all of you behind me right up until my dad's dying moment. Thank you all for this. I so appreciated the care, consideration and empathy that went along with it,
With fondest regards,
Trish Mc Lea (Mr Arthur Bulless's daughter)

Praise for Fish Hoek Nursing Services: False Bay Echo: 13th October 2011

I was recently at Constantiaberg Hopsital for an operation, and when I was discharged I had an open wound which required dressing.   Our family has been a member of FHHNS for many years and therefore, we called on them to do my dressing daily.   Speaking as an ex-nursing sister myself, I can, without reservation, state that in addition to the world class standard of nursing care I received, the staff (and special mention needs to be made of Sister Trish Little) were prompt, kind, cheerful and prefessional.   My interaction with them has certainly revived by faith in the nursing profession - which had long ago waned.   So to all the nurses and nurse-aids of the FHHNS, I salute you - and long may you continue to do this little valley of Fish Hoek so pround. With deep gratitude, Shirley Glyn

Dear Sister Storer and the team at FHHNS: I just wish to say thank you very much for the good work you and your team does. I so appreciated the meetings with Sister Martin and getting to know all the dedicated nurses who were allocated to Mr Calderwood's care was a great priviledge for me. I wish to pass my hearfelt thanks to all those who cared for Alistair during his last days. You do have a great team! I have a gentle peace in that I know he was comfortable and relaxed in his last week and that it all we had hoped for. He had also grown to really appreciate the care and understanding which was given to him. Once more, thank you very much, Diana Calderwood

To the Sisters, and day and night nursing staff of Fish Hoek Home Nursing Services: On behalf of the Hoole family, I would like to thank you so much for your professionalism, your kindness and compassion you showed towards my Dad and Mom during the weeks when he was so ill and frail. Dad became very fond of the nurses who cared for him, and for Mom you were all such a support, a source of strength and of good advice. It was also a relief for us to know that the responsibility of caring for Dad was being shared. What an amazing service you offer to the community of Fish Hoek! May you continue to be a blessing in your God-given role, and may the God who comforts be a blessing to you in return. We appreciate your love and care so much, With heartfelt thanks, Wendy Budler, Rob, Andrew and Michael Hoole and their families.
